Blueberry Pie in a blender and trip home...

I am sitting here devouring serving number 2 of my AMAZING Vanilla Blueberry Protein Ice Cream with GG Scandinavian Bran Sprinkles on top, and marvelling how much this tastes like Blueberry Pie- especially with the GG Sprinkles on top!

In the mix (or 'blend'):
-1 packet (split into 1/2 to make 2 shakes) of Vanilla Protilife or Vanilla Whey Isolate Protein Powder
-4 packets of Sweet and Low
-Ice
-60g GG Scandinavian Bran Sprinkles (split between the 2 shakes)

SO GOOD!!! I think a TB of sour cream or cottage cheese/cream cheese/yogurt would've added that cheese cake flavour! Or ricotta!!!

I have a big day ahead of me and want to get a head start. And by BIG- I mean some grocery shopping and then returning to my parent's house to keep my dad company and spend the night(after not being there for Y-E-A-R-S). Stressed much?? YES.

Yesterday, I devoured 4 mini La Tortilla Factory Low Carb/High Fiber wraps in the parking lots of a hotel post business conference, with some Wild Garden Hummus (Roasted Red Pepper) and I have to say... DAMN. I forgot how soft and amazing those wraps are! The Hummus was pretty good too- not as authentic tasting as 'real' hummus (which I grew up eating) but really good nevertheless!

Here are the La Tortilla Factory Low Carb/High Fiber Stats:

Here is the Wild Garden Hummus:

The point of this post? Preparedness!
'Things did not go as I had planned yesterday; I was hungry after a 3hr info seminar- and cranky! Those Tortilla's and Hummus were actually a 'gift' for a family member (who graciously let me eat some). I was off my game. I normally eat at home- where I have all of 'my' foods etc. We all know tips for taking snacks with us etc, but it's amazing how sometimes you forget. Those wraps/hummus saved me (besides literally drinking ALL of the Business Seminar's coffee), although I was still hungry ( and still cranky).

So, in PREPARATION for my 1 night stay, I have literally packed 1/2 my fridge, pantry and have 4 huge bags...... Contingency plans should never be over-looked!
We are watching 'THE BLIND SIDE' and I can't wait for my dad to watch it. I'll also be working out @ the World Health Club by there place in the morning. Learning to adapt, and not 'catastophize' is something I truly need practice in. I am a creature of habit, routine (as long as it's my routine) and comfort.

  2. are you ok with eating out? its good to be prepared, but I had to learn sometimes, its just a hassle to bring the food I'm used to and its food to sometimes exercise flexibility in finding stuff to eat at local shops and restaurants. I love hummus! but I always like make my own since its so simple to make and I make it so yummy!

  4. I'm a fan of those wraps too, but that hummus not so much. I think I expected it to taste more like real hummus so I was a little disappointed. Maybe I'll try it again since I know what to expect now. Good luck with your trip home!
