Sunday update

Just a quick update...

I have been down all day. This is not normal. Usually going out and grocery shopping etc takes my mind off of things. Not so today.

I'll just quickly run over the highlights.

I got another BOOK!!! One of my all time favorite funny/memoir/girly non-fiction author's Jen Lancaster (if you haven't read her previous books or checked out her blog then GET ON IT NOW!).

I'm interested to read this, as it has gotten mixed reviews. I LOVED her last books, especially BITTER IS THE NEW BLACK and SUCH A PRETTY FAT.

I also MAJORLY scored on Mushrooms! I am a little embarrassed to post all the picture here. We went to 2 Safeway's- requested FRESH mushrooms every time. I ended up leaving with 4 FOUR HUGE FILLED BAGS! They were HUGE! I don't know WHY I didn't take a picture when of the 3 huge crates the guy brought us! I think I was too excited! They were hand size. You can see my friend holding my 3rd bag while I took the picture and continued to fill each bag to the top. Bursting at the seams:

This is ONE of the FOUR bags...also the SMALLEST bag....

I also found a 3 pack of the Stride Mystery Gum finally!

I lucked out on some cheap glass bowls! I got both for $1.77! score:
Last stop of the day was Community Natural Foods (as always) where I got my 2 fave mustard's:
Can you spot them? Top shelf 3 product from the left (green label) and the shelf right under it, 2nd mustard from left (beside the yellow squeeze bottle). My head has been pounding and I just wanted to go HOME!
The second I opened the apartment building back door I noticed the fire alarm was off, and walked full on into the lobby full of hot fire man. Luckily, they were really quick! I feel bad for all the people that couldn't get on the elevator because my little red (borrowed) pull cart took up a lot of room! I am currently munching on Bell Peppers dipped in Honey Mustard (mustard with sweet and low) . I have had dinner, my pack of GG Scandinavian Bran Crispbread with Pgx Granules, microwaved into a Fiber Mess and my Protishake Ice cream.

Battles with my Refrigerator

For the past 2+ months my fridge has been FREEZING EVERYTHING. And I mean Everything! Bags of Romaine- frozen and spoiled. Cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, cauliflower, green onions, mushrooms etc. You guys know I live off of produce and my fridge is loaded to the max with fresh veggies. I have had to throw away $100's of dollars worth of  produce- even trying to encorporate the once frozen and now thawing and slimy lettuce and veggies etc into my meals. Trust me- I hate wasting. If I can scrape it, cut around it etc, I will.

I have been fiddling with the temperature control, setting the dial lower and lower to see if it would help. I have been googling possible options until 3 am. I was afraid the compressor was broken etc. My apartment fridge is beyond ancient. Like 1980s ancient. I thought my freezer was screwing it up, I had too much in it etc.
I finally got fed up because my temp dial doesn't say anything, other that 1-8 and MAX. I googled myself to death and got conflicting answers as to my temperature dial. Most were 1-warmest 8-coldest. MAX obviously the coldest. Others explained that the numbers correspond to the degrees.

Well- I finally realized that 1 is the COLDEST and 8 is the WARMER setting. Why would they put MAX as the MAX HEAT? It is a refrigerator- it is supposed to refrigerate (ie COOL) things! Max should be COLDEST.

I need to figure it all out, because I have an over abundance of soggy, thawing, rotting veggies in my fridge now.

Yesterday I got the book 'LET THE GREAT WORLD SPIN' by Colum McCann and Friday I got as a gift 'The Shadow Effect".

I realize that this post isn't really health/food related, but I just wanted to type something. I think I am becoming depressed again- this is something that I have struggled with my whole life. The sun is OUT and it is beyond gorgeous outside. I mean post card weather gorgeous. Sunny, bright, warm...
I feel lost and stuck and low and sad. Anxious and overwhelmed.
I must change my thought pattern because this is not good.
Please keep me in your thoughts!

I hit up the gym for my daily 54min cardio and watched the Food Network's "I Do: Let's Eat" and the beginning of "Ultimate Recipe Showdown". I technically didn't 'watch' but stared at the screen at times. I love Ultimate Recipe Showdown! I don't have the Food Network at home, but if I did I would never leave my apartment! I should come later to the gym on Sunday's so I can watch the entire epidose!
I am currently munching on celery sticks (a whole Costco sized pack 2.5lbs)
Copious amounts of mushrooms etc dipped into mustard and making a FIBER PROTEIN PUDDING MESS!
I'm most likely going to end up microwaving some with baking soda.

Thursday/Friday Recap in yummy pictures.

Hello Darlings!
Sorry for the  lack of posting! I have been taking pictures and literally got overwhelmed with the amount I need to share with you! Working with annoying co-worker was tense since last Friday's event. I made me think of Julie's post on 'Fake Smiles". A lot of silent air filled with irritation. Oh well... moving on...

I got to sample the new Probiotic Gum- The flavor literally lasts about 3seconds and they tell you to chew it for 5-10 minutes... Ugh..okay, it's like chewing a blob of unflavoured gum! That being said, the flavors (when they last for 3 seconds) are fantastic!

I rarely take pictures of my nightly (without fail) GG Scandinavian Bran Crispbread Messes, but I have a whole package EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT with my shake as dessert.

The trick is to crumble them into little pieces. Then drown them in ANY flavor of syrup you want (I use Davinci Sugar Free Syrups, Walden Farms Pancake Syrup, Walden Farm's Jam and Syrups, Starbucks SF syrups, Monin etc). I then add my Sweet and Low, cinnamon and a scoop of PGX granules per bowl (a 10 pack of crackers makes 10 bowls).

I then stir, stir, stir and add water etc as needed and pop it in the microwave for 1.4 minutes. You can also let it sit a bit and the PGX with 'congeal' or absorb the water. I always add some more fixings on top (Walden Farms Jam, Chocolate Dip, Peanut Butter, Protein Ice Cream etc). Excuse my ugly thumb! I dipped that piece into Walden Farm's Calorie Free Chocolate Dip. The rest have the Walden Farms Strawberry Jam, and are mixed with Davinci Sugar Free Kahlua Syrup, Davinci Blueberry Syrup, Coconut etc.

I have this with my nightly Protilife Protein Ice Cream/Shake concoction.
And YES, I do dip the GG Crispbread Crackers in their too and pour it on top of my GG MESS.

Friday Morning at the gym I savored every bite of my Cookie Batter/Fiber Mess made with
- PPES Whey Isoburst in French Vanilla (protein powder)
- Sweet and Low and Water.

And here is part 1 of my nightly dinner ( you cannot see the whole bag of Broccoli slaw, 340g of microwaved Cauliflower, 4 cans of Yellow and Green Wax Beans, 1 Tomato, Red Pepper, Green Onion and 300g mushrooms with a WHOLE 907g bag of Dole Chopped Romaine Lettuce)

This takes 2 HUGE mixing bowls, copious amount of seasoning and spices, Mustard, Salsa, and Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy Sauce (often a bit of Davinci Sugar Free syrups-pineapple, blueberry, huckleberry, raspberry, strawberry, coconut etc)

For the RECORD: I do PREFER Mann's Rainbow Salad Coleslaw over the Broccoli Slaw!
It has Cauliflower in it too and is easier to chew!

HAVE A WONDERFUL SATURDAY AND LONG WEEKEND!!!!!

I plan on doing a 'Supplements I use' type post soon! Is anyone interested in that? I am in the 'industry' so I do know about formula's, company's etc.
