Making It Work- Portable meal ideas TO GO; convenience

As many of you know, my goal for March is to get "back on track" Healthy Eating-wise. March tends to be the month people starts lagging on their "New Years' goals, succumbing to convenience, laziness, or frustration. Many of my clients are struggling with this, as the colder months lead to reaching for my comfort foods. I realized that I have been eating far too many processed foods. This has wrecked havoc on my immune system, piling in unnecessary calories that are nutritionally void, slowed my concentration and impaired my sleep; leaving me feeling constantly hungry and irritable, not to mention a definite inching up on the scale.

Early this morning I decided to change things around and swap up the foods I have been eating (far too many sweets). I am an advocate of quick, easy and convenient! I also wanted to pack some fresh veggies that I had sitting in the fridge, while maintaining a "snackish' type meal that can be easily snacked on while studying/reading/working.

-A bag of Mann's Rainbow Salad (better than their BroccoliSlaw- Rainbow Salad has added Cauliflower and a milder taste).
- A 500g bag of Radishes slices up.
-600 g of Celery sticks (unpictured)
-Baby Carrots
-Unpictured bottle of Walden Farm's BBQ sauce
-Gold Seal Smoked Light Can of Tuna (easy to remove lid makes it clean and fast to get protein in).

After my morning Cardio, I decided to revisit an old favorite that I LOVED and offered so many health benefits: PROTEIN FIBER PUDDING! Click for RECIPES or search of Protein Fiber Pudding.

This is something I used to have in varying forms daily.
I decided to use an old prepackaged packet of Whey Protein Powder (Kaizen 100% Whey in Orange Creamsicle).
-55g Renew Life Fiber Smart
-Packet of Sweetener
-Water.

As you can see, I didn't even bring a bowl and used a "stolen" Tim Horton's Coffee cup. This was phenomenal, and really helped balance my blood sugar. The ground flax in the Fibersmart really give this a great nutty taste and fantastic thick texture.

Recollecting past recipes/foods you used to enjoy on a regular basis as part of a "get healthy lifestyle" is a great way to get back on track! Not only have you already proven to yourself that you can do this (as you have in the past), but you know that you loved the way the food tasted. This gives you something to look forward to, as well as encourages you to try remaking it in new ways.

I know that I will be having a Strawberry Banana Flavored Protein Fiber Pudding tomorrow morning! This is a fantastic way to start your day: Healthy fats, protein, fiber and dessert all in one!

I recommend mixing in some Coconut Butter/Walnut Butter/Almond Butter or any Nut butter you have on hand.

I look forward to making one of my old favorites: Protein Fiber Sludge Pudding

Sunday's Cookie Dough and revelation

I am now 100% convinced my 'weekend' friend isn't sincere in his intentions toward me. He is never happy if I go out with other people and ignores all comments on them. When I try to share something that I am excited about or did without him he changes the subject and stays silent. I texted him about my victory over my hard water stain and wrote:

"Me:1/Hard water stain 0!!! Buckley's pm 1/me 0! It kicked my ass! I went out for a bit last night and fell asleep in PUBLIC! lol".

I knew he wouldn't respond. About 6min passed and finally he wrote : "Glad you got your stain out; what time am I picking you up". He is in it for his own interest, not sincere, manipulative, pathetic and a toxic person who brings me down.

Gym this morning was 55min: 535cal/5.85miles. I had 2 480g bags of radishes, a HUGE peeled cucumber with Crystal Light's new Acai Peach packet, lemon juice and sweetener, 210g or mushrooms, 335g of romaine, 350g of microwaved cauliflower ( until mushy) with soy, mustard, and Walden Farm's Asian dressing:

Now I am about to make a repeat of yesterday's ORGASMIC BROWNIE BATTER/COOKIE DOUGH! This time I used:
- 26.5g Fibersmart by Renewlife
-sweet and low
-cinnamon

I love the Chocolate Fudge flavor. It is a thinner protein, but the taste is really good. They have a fabulous Cafe Brazil too!

Anxiety..

Why am I waking up so late?!??! I can't go to sleep, always get up to go eat at like 11pm and wake up so down and tired. However, THE WEATHER IS GORGEOUS! SUNNY AND BRIGHT! I totally panicked, got paralyzed and called in sick to work today. I need money-seriously, but I just FREEZE and then cancel work. I feel smothered, overwhelmed and I just need to BREATHE and think. My weekend friend is smothering me and it's too much! I want to go look for storage containers today, and I texted to ask if he wanted to come.  If he had replied normally, I would be fine. He always says something like " The earlier the better, I am just stoked to see you and be around you'. (I know that SEEMS nice, but it's putting so much pressure on me, and he does it to manipulate). I all of a sudden felt like I couldn't breathe and texted back 'I'm going to go check the store right next to the gym first to see if they have any there instead'. He always says these lame things like 'my only purpose is making you happy- i will do everything I can possibly'. STOP IT!

Gym: 60min on the elliptical, which is a lot, but I took it easy.

Wanted to show you guys my 'surplus' of sample supplements. I have this x 3 and then 3 full shelves of FULL sized (not sample packets) bottles and my freezer is FULL of Greens, probiotics etc. MY gym locker is THE WORST. Below are 2 of my containers (those are my newstorage containers!)and I have one more and 3 FULL huge bags packed full of more samples of supplements etc:

I had more of my shake/icecream and 4Fiber pudding yesterday, and thought I would share pictures:
The second picture has the shake on top (hence the spoon in the bowl and duel colors).

I

I resigned my lease which made me feel semi productive, and put money on next months' rent. I also had a minor breakdown (release) in my apartment office. Bottling up so much isn't healthy. Let's just say that my pay check was 56% lower than normal- and I am barely getting by on 'normal' and I have to buy groceries for 2 weeks with it, rent, bills etc.

On an unrelated note (kinda- it deals with Project DeClutter/Organize) I get a 'word of the day' from a radio station, which I then enter and get point for. Today's word? CLUTTER!
Very apprapo! It's a SIGN!! Must clean and get organizers/more storage containers!

Thought I'd share this song that's catchy:

I vacuumed! Go me!

I write this update again from Good Earth cafe- sipping my Starbucks PASSION TAZO tea- I know, I'm bad...

Today's been a weird day. After my workout I headed home, emailed my dad and decided to get off my ass and continue with "Operation De-Clutter/Get Organized". I have been falling behind, and starting to save (hoard-cough cough) things again for 'tomorrow, future use' etc. I just got up and VACUUMED. It felt good! One problem that arose was the moving of the punching bag- not happening. It is a standing one that is filled to the top with water and sand-i couldn't even move it an inch.

I am also having a hard time designating what to use my storage bins for?! ANY IDEAS?? Samples, mail, pay stubs... I am lost.

I had 4 Holy Basil's right when I finished my workout, so it did help with my anxiety. I also had Holy Basil tea when I got home. I snacked all morning- 2 460g bags of Yours Truly Radishes, 2 red peppers (all dipped into copious amounts of homemade mustard dipping sauce) and tooled around on the internet looking for Windowns Vista sidebar gadgets, blogger widgets etc and reading blogs. I kept making a mess by moving piles to other piles etc.
I decided to break for lunch @ 2:30pm while watching such gems as MTV's 'Parental Control' , Gossip Girl, and the end of Dr Oz, Chris and Steve and the beginning of Oprah (Pillsbury Bake off), The Doctors, Bonny Hunt Show and America's Best Recipe's.

I had 29g of premeasured (Shout out to my amazing MINI SALTER SCALE- my best friend EVER- seriously, GET ONE NOW) 4Fiber and Chocolate Protilife which I made into a shake using Davinci sf Toasted Marshmallow, coconut, and Walden Farms Pancake syrup, PGX, sweet and low, cinnamon and ice.
Below is my 4FIBER pudding/cookie dough (mixed with sweet and low, Walden Farms Pancake, and the aforementioned Davinci Sugar Free Syrups):
The above picture is the 4Fiber drizzled with my protein Ice Cream! YUM

This was had with lunch which consisted of:

  • 340g bag of fresh Cauliflower

  • 340g bag of Mann's Broccolislaw

  • 2 huge zucchini's ( 19oz)

  • 100g mushrooms

  • mustard, soy sauce, more grain mustard, and sweetener

  • (unpictured 300g celery, and another 200g mushrooms with French's Yellow Mustard, cayenne and Sweet and Low):
The celery/mushrooms I had later and then FINALLY knowing that I would just binge, I turned Oprah off, grabbed my laptop and ran here (Good Earth). I wanted to get out by 1pm and ended up leaving at 345pm!
