Saturday recap, protein cake, ice cream...oh my!

Wow- where did the weekend go??? I am writing this up MONDAY and have so many pictures to share of both Saturday and Sunday. I'll keep Saturday quick! After I posted about my workout/mushroom love, I made BLUEBERRY STRAWBERRY ice cream! TO. DIE.FOR! The only thing that was missing was the 'tang' of the berries! FOOD PORN!

This is the Magic Bullet Blender lid...so creamy

This was made with a packet of Protilife Vanilla Shake mix, ice, PGX granules, Davinci SF Blueberry and Strawberry Syrup, and sweet and low! The key is to let it blend, then sit for a min, add more syrup, stir it around, shake it, blend again, add more ice etc.

It also signalled the return of the PROTEIN CAKE! If you check out my first 4months of posts, you can see I had about 12 cakes A DAY! I made this with Isoflex Chocolate Protein (Allmax), psyllium husks, sweetener, and Davinci SF Cookie Dough syrup with baking soda. YUM

See the melty chocolate chips?

After that, my friend picked me up and we headed to get my bulk case of radishes from the Wholesale Superstore (forgot to take a picture), and then off to Superstore where I loaded up on my essentials: 8 bags of Dole 908g Romaine (chopped), green onions, salsa, mustard x3, 7 bags of Mann's Rainbow Salad (like Broccoli coleslaw), grape tomatoes, seven 350gram bags of chopped fresh cauliflower (again- I have one everyday), 44 canned green/wax beans ($0.66c sale), celery, and I majorly scored on the PROTILIFE! They were "clearanc-ing" them out and the manager found the last 6 boxes! I got all the Chocolate Shake boxes that I love, and grabbed 3 maple oatmeal boxes that I plan to exchange at Zellers or something for the Shake mix instead (I'll just say my friend picked up the wrong ones or something).

I also found this amusing box in the international foods isle (right by where I found the COCK soup last time):

We also swung by Sobey's, where I grabbed more Salsa, a bag of Coleslaw and 2 Johnny's Spices! I grabbed the Seasoned Sea Salt, and the Seafood Seasoning. I will show those in my Sunday recap pics because I put them into a huge pile with all my other condiment purchases! I also saw the 'reappearance' of the YELLOW tomato!
yay:

Last stop of the day was the Arirang Korean food market, where I grabbed a huge thing of Kikkoman Low Sodium Soy Sauce (why they don't make them in bigger sizes is BEYOND me- the regular sodium infused ones come in 64oz jugs!) and my KAEDE 100 count Nori Seaweed pack (picture again will be in Sunday's recap).

I was stoked to get home and EAT! I made more ice cream for dessert (using the other 1/2 of the Vanilla Protilife) and had it with my Scandinavian Bran Crispbread pack (yes all 10 slices!).

Sunday recap and a new HIDEAWAY

I am writing this from the GOOD EARTH a few blocks from my apartment and totally enjoying lazily chilling out and CALMLY reading blogs and typing this. Why have I not been doing this earlier? This is my new hideaway-destressing place! I always make plans to GET OUT, and yet end up feeling crammed anxious, aggitated when I'm @ my apartment and on the computer because it is SO cluttered. Anyone have any ideas about de-cluttering? I hate being in there. It is like an episode of Hoarders!! Anyways, my sister finally returned my lap top and I finally decided to get out!  Rewind to yesterday:
I woke up too early, too tired....went to the gym and pushed my way through my workout. I was feeling MEH. Just down for no reason.I ate 3 bags of radish, 2 340g bags of cauliflower, mushrooms, red peppers and of course my Protishake and 4Fiber gooey pudding invention! SOOOO good. I realize my lunch picture looks yucky- but it's all how you season it and it was GOOD!

I have to say this batch of CREAMY amazing Protilife soft serving/shake was RIDICULOUSLY creamy and amazing. I think it had to do with the fact that a, I added more 4Fiber to it and
b, I let it sit for awhile and let it congeal and thicken. My pudding was so good too!

My weekend friend picked me up around 2pm and our first stop was Walmart where I grabbed 4 Mann's Rainbow Salads, French's Bold'n'Spicy mustard, Vaseline Intensive Therapy (my right hand is so chapped, that when i\I make a fist, the skin on the knuckles cracks and bleeds!) and
We didn't really know what to do next to kill time, so we decided to head over to Lina's Italian Market!
I haven't been here in YEARS! Sorry about the crappy cell pictures! I think the lense was greasy from the Vaseline cream! lol. This place is BIG and has a kitchen/utensil section, and isles of spices, vinegars, oils, canned goods, SPICES& SEASONINGS, SPICES....lol as well as a cafe, deli, fresh cheese bar, gelato, pizza, and cute Italian boys serving you! They sell European food (Polish, Hungarian, Spain, Italy, Croatia etc). I got Italianna Dijon Mustard , and Szeged Hungarian Seasonings that I haven't had in about 5 years!

I got the Fish Rub and the Chicken (amazing- my mom used to buy their Hungarian Paprika all the time!)
In my cupboards...
They closed at 5pm on Sunday's so we were pretty much kicked out.
Since I am of European origin, I was literally having 'reminiscing' moments of nastalgia! A lot of the gingerbreads, neopolitanki, sweets etc were imported from Central East Europe ( where my family originates).

Ready for Spring already! It is COLD

I hit the gym for some cardio this morning (55min 536cal/5.76miles) and grabbed 3 scoops of Renew Life Fiber Smart which I mixed with sf pancake syrup and cinnamon at home *amazing!

I had major trepidation about meeting S, so I delayed until 1. I ended up having a decent time. Got lots of second hand books, including the BIGGEST find- Benazir Bhutto's memoir! I also got about 5 other books, an audio book which I can listen to at night, and a Moonlight CD (classical music that is supposed to be calming). I got The Constant Gardener, Adam Gopnik's Paris To The Moon, The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, The Shack and Richard Prices CLOCKERS for fun. I usually read heavier books about Africa/Middle East, memoirs etc, but I got all of these plus the cd for $15! My friend also surprised me and bought Dr Suess's The Lorax!

I then went to Community Natural Foods to grab more Amazing Grass Chocolate Superfoods! We then headed to Planet Organic, where S got me more spices (Cape and Herb lemon pepper/lamb, and REDMOND REAL SALT Organic Natural Seasoning Salt (this is amazing-onion,garlic, celery, coriander etc). I also got QUE PASA organic Mexican Salsa!

Unfortunately, at Safeway they still didn't have good stock on the sweet Bell Peppers, and I had been hoping that they would have the AMAZING Spanish ones they had 2 weeks ago. The produce person was just putting out a shipment of smaller ones from Israel, so I grabbed about 5. I feel like I'm a culinary citizen of the world! I got Mexican Red Bell Peppers last week! I also got 5 Green Onions, tons of vine tomatoes, Crystal Light, 2 bags of Mann's broccoli slaw (they were SOLD out), mushrooms a Xenergy, El Molino Salsa, and TWO JOHNNY'S LEMON PEPPER SEASONING! AMAZING!

Last stop was the AWESOME Korean Market near my apartment called Arirang. I got a pack of white miso soup and a pack of 100 sheets of Yaki Nori full size seaweed.

Here is a picture of my fridge (BAD lighting from fridge and cell phone-sorry). The upper right hand side has a cellophane bag full of red peppers, Dole 908g bags of romaine, radishes, grape tomatoes, broccolislaw and zucchini!
